Born where the forest meets the sea, Maine Mist Co. is rooted in the landscapes of coastal Maine. Every candle begins with the places that surround us—fog drifting through pine trees, salt air along the shoreline, and the quiet balance between forest and ocean.
What started as a desire to create something simple and authentic has grown into a small collection of candles inspired by the natural beauty of Maine. Each one is hand-poured in small batches with the belief that the scents we bring into our homes should feel as genuine as the places that inspired them.
WHY WE CHOOSE ESSENTIAL OILS
Maine Mist Co. began with a simple goal: to create candles made from ingredients I genuinely wanted in my own home.
Early in the process, I experimented with synthetic fragrance oils commonly used throughout the candle industry. While many are thoughtfully formulated and widely used, they weren't the right fit for me. I experienced headaches and allergy flare-ups during testing, and I found myself wanting something simpler—candles scented only with pure steam-distilled essential oils.
That decision became the foundation of Maine Mist Co.
Today, every candle we make is scented exclusively with pure steam-distilled essential oils. We believe they capture the character of Maine's forests, coastline, and wild landscapes in a way that feels authentic and true to nature.
Our approach isn't about making exaggerated claims or following trends. It's about thoughtfully choosing every ingredient, honoring the plants they come from, and crafting candles that reflect the places we love.
